Greatrex to head up Artis Group

He will take over from founding director, Peter Giudes, who will focus on strategic growth initiatives and acquisitions

Software development and application support provider, Artis Group, has seen the return of Chris Greatrex from the United States to lead the company.

He will take over from founding director, Peter Giudes, who plans to continue to spend time in the business focusing on strategic growth initiatives and acquisitions.

After helping to found Artis Group, Greatrex worked in New York and previous employers include Sirius Computer Solutions, Aspect Computing and KAZ Technology Services prior to its Telstra acquisition.

The change in hands follows a period of realignment for Artis, selling its hardware business in February to focus on the growing software development and applications support business. The Missing Link purchased its infrastructure services team for an undisclosed sum.

That strategy has resulted in the company recruiting 35 people into the business and achieving Microsoft Gold status for Web Development under the new Microsoft Partner Network.

“By refocusing its capabilities around innovative Software Development and Applications Support, Artis Group joins other successful IT companies around the world in specialising in well-defined technology areas. The experience of the Global Financial Crisis, through to today’s uncertain economic times, has taught us clients need pragmatic and innovative approaches to their applications development and support needs,” Greatrex said. “You really need to be specialised to meet these client requirements, adhere to tight budgets, and continue to be successful."

The Artis Application Support Centre is a product of that specialisation, coupled with innovation and a pragmatic approach to application support. It provides mission critical application support for government and commercial clients on a 24x7 basis.

“Our application support client base extends through Asia and Australia and the maturity of our processes, communication skills, use of online collaboration, and ongoing innovation, are key differentiators,” Greatrex said.
