Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) provider, Infraserve, will supply a new Platform as a Service (PaaS) offering based on CA AppLogic.
This is the first offering that has stemmed from the partnership and it enables ISVs to make their software available in the cloud.
Infraserve, co-founder and director, Roy Pater, said the offering will help local application providers expand their reach into the global market.
“There are some fantastic ISVs in Australia creating intelligent software for a variety of industries, such as mining, which can be shared with other parts of the world that need those applications,” Pater said. “Before this solution was available, ISVs would have to find a distributor or reseller network to sell their software in other countries. But with the CA AppLogic-powered Infraserve cloud, Australian ISVs can transform their software to the cloud quickly, and have it available wherever their prospects are located.”
The PaaS solution is available via Infraserve channel partners throughout Australia and pricing is based on a pay-per-use model for the compute and storage required with no long-term lock in contracts.
CA Technologies senior cloud strategist, Darryn McCoskery, said to turn a traditional on-premise software product into a cloud-ready SaaS offering can take anywhere from three months to a year.
“The CA AppLogic-powered Infraserve PaaS solution allows software to be made available in the cloud much more rapidly. Once in the Infraserve cloud, the ISV’s software becomes a reusable and portable virtual business service that can be delivered to customers on CA AppLogic grids around the world,” McCoskery said.
