ASX-listed DWS Advanced Business Solutions (ASX:DWS), has entered into a joint venture with Boreal Information Strategies (Borealis), to establish a new Australian company to deliver consulting services.
The new company, called Borealis DWS Consulting Services will be split 50/50 ownership between DWS and Borealis, and will supply its consulting services to mining, oil and gas industries.
Borealis already globally supplies Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility solutions.
In a statement to the ASX, DWS said there was an opportunity to partner with Borealis on the back of strong growth it experienced in the market.
“DWS’ national footprint, reputation and successful client relationships made DWS an ideal partner for Borealis to grow the use of their solutions in the Australia energy markets,” the statement said.
DWS CEO, Danny Wallis said in his address to shareholders at its Annual General meeting, the partnership would provide great exposure for DWS into the mining sector, which it previously had limited exposure in.
Wallis also discussed further changes to the company’s branding in the next year.
“Our new branding will assist us in positioning DWS as a sophisticated professional organisation, with a broad solution offering and robust value proposition,” Wallis said.
Wallis revealed the company will be developing four to five specialist practices in the next four years to increase its service offerings to customers and provide an enhanced career path for its employees.
During the past year, the company launched its Business Analytics and Information Management specialist practice and the DWS Solutions Centre - officially named DWS iSolutions, which is its foray into investing in a specialist cloud offering.
“These practices will facilitate deeper relationships with our clients and increase our capability to deliver value adding services,” Wallis said.
