Chinese site 'announces' 2013 launch of iPhone 5S

Rumours of an early 2013 release date

Apple iPhone is one of the most talked about mobile devices today and it is in news again as rumours of iPhone 5S makes the round at a Chinese site.

If news from The Commercial Times is to be believed, we may hold the updated version of iPhone 5 as soon as the first quarter of 2013 (Q1 2013).

This news is surprising as Apple only recently launched the much anticipated iPhone 5 and one would think the company will wait to launch an update to this bestselling smartphone.

However, this Chinese site insists the world will have the iPhone 5S complete with features it could not include in the newly released version.

Apple has made no formal announcements to this end but the trial production of the new model is set to begin in December 2012.

Fighting for the top spot

It is believed that Apple intends to quickly introduce the next version to the world because it is facing tough competition from Samsung's Galaxy S3 and a few other players in the market.

The fight for the top spot is on; this is perhaps why iPhone 5S will go under the trial production next month. Initially, Apple will order the production of 50,000 and 100,000 units, according to The Commercial Times.

"Facing low yield rates in the production of iPhone 5, Apple has accelerated the certification processes for related parts and components for the iPhone 5S," the paper said.

iPhone 5S is not the only Apple device to hit the market next year as the tech giant is also rumoured to launch an updated version of iPad in 2013.

iPad is said to be updated as buyers are not pleased with the display resolution of the current version. Apple expects to boost its global sales and strengthen its position in the mobile devices market with these two rumoured upcoming launches.
