In promotion of the Green IT Awareness Week (June 1 – 7), Foxtel has sponsored a video crowdsourcing competition for the best original video that promotes environmentally-friendly behaviour related to technology.
It has collaborated with Australian video ad crowdsourcing online platform, Brand Honee, to launch the contest, seeking the top three video entries that best raise awareness for their green IT initiatives.
Foxtel chief information officer, Robyn Elliott, said it decided to support the competition as the company is conscious of the impact of IT on the environment and wants to help promote sustainable actions to reduce waste and become more energy-efficient.
Brand Honee CEO and founder, Laurence Wolf, said the company aims to launch 20 of such competitions with a total prize pool of $100,000 by July 31, 2013.
“We’ve already awarded $40,000 to local filmmakers with these contests,” Wolf said.
The contest is open to all creatives nationwide and they are required to submit video content in line with a specific brief before June 3 this year.
The best ad will win a cash prize of $5000 from Foxtel and be used to promote the International Green IT Awareness Week.
