Wireless broadband infrastructure vendor, Siklu, has inked a distribution deal with Lan 1.
As per the agreement, Lan 1 will distribute Siklu’s range of gigabit millimetre wave (MMW) point-to-point wireless solutions.
Lan 1 outdoor wireless broadband business manager, Dineshwar Lal, said the company decided to offer Siklu’s products as Australian enterprises, especially small and medium enterprises, are realising that their legacy Ethernet networks can no longer deliver the bandwidth required to operate effectively.
Lal claimed that it resulted in many businesses experiencing periods of network instability, marked by an increase in latency, packet loss and decreased throughput.
“In the quest to meet increased customer demand for bandwidth, resellers and integrators often examine solutions such as leased fibre, cable, and VPN. These options, however, come with high up-front costs and long installation time,” he said.
He mentioned that Siklu’s radios are ideal for LTE macro and small cell backhaul, fibre extension and business service delivery, and are based on an all-silicon design that reduces price and increases reliability.
“Siklu is an E-Band vendor who offer reliable, simple to deploy, 1Gbps MMW links at a great price; and that is exactly the type of product we want to bring to our wireless channel partners here in Australia,” he added.
Siklu Asia-Pacific regional sales director, Sunny Tham, said identifying the right distribution partner to take its solution to the Australian market was of top priority.
“With Lan 1’s dedicated wireless outdoor networking sales team, and highly experienced engineers offering pre/post-sale support and technical training in all major cities in Australia, the choice was simple,” he claimed.
Lan 1 will have three of its technical engineers certified by Siklu during August and is actively recruiting resellers for channel partner training on Siklu products later this month.
