Knott to helm Arkadin

Arkadin have appointed Richard Knott to lead business strategy in A/NZ

Video conference specialists Arkadin have named Richard Knott to lead business strategy in A/NZ.

Knott will be responsible for overseeing all Arkadin’s business operations across the ANZ region including its go-to-market strategy, establishing strategic partnerships and driving the uptake of Arkadin’s advanced collaboration and unified communications solutions portfolio.

The announcement coincides with the company being named as an official provider of Tata’s jamvee on-demand video conferencing service in A/NZ.

Knott said business communications had come a long way over the past decade. “As organisations become more distributed, with extended networks of partners, suppliers and customers, remote offices and telecommuting employees, the need for real-time interaction has significantly increased,” he said.

“Arkadin provides solutions that give practical benefits to today’s mobile workforce that go beyond the basic ‘Bring Your Own Device’ trend.

"I’m very pleased to be joining Arkadin at an exciting time in their business growth.”

Knott started his career at Telstra’s international division working in a range of senior commercial roles, including regional director of Telstra’s New Zealand business in Wellington.

He also managed Orange Business Services in Australia and New Zealand where he led a multi-discipline team winning business and delivering global managed network and ICT services to major corporations.

Knott spent six years in Singapore in Asia Pacific roles, where he was responsible for building the global services business of Orange and the enterprise and managed services business for Tata Communications.

He returned to Sydney in 2011 to run Fujitsu Australia New Zealand's network solutions business unit including the telco, cloud and digital media businesses, before establishing a consulting firm advising service providers and vendors on business strategy and execution.
