AAPT chief executive officer (CEO), David Yuile, will be leaving the telco on February 28 2014.
Yuile will accordingly cease to be an officer of Telecom Corporation of New Zealand Limited on the same date.
Telecom Chief Executive, Simon Moutter, said that Yuile has been instrumental in driving the transformation of AAPT over the past few years into a highly competitive data and internet provider.
Yuile’s work at the company culminated in the sale of AAPT to TPG for $A450 million that is due to be settled on February 28 2014.
“David and his management team have done an outstanding job during the last three years to simplify, stabilise and reshape the company. With AAPT now performing very well and joining the TPG group, David departs with our thanks and best wishes,” Moutter said.
New Zealand Telecom head of communications, Richard Llewellyn, said the decision to leave was taken by Yuile alone. He was not able to comment on a replacement and said that the decision will be made by the new owner TPG.
