ASG wins $21 million in contracts, further $80 million in the pipeline

ASG wins $21 million in contracts, further $80 million in the pipeline

Services provider secures deals across EPCM, mining, and state and federal government

IT services provider, ASG Group, has secured $21 million in incremental deals and is finalising a further $80 million worth of contracts, all of which represent exclusive negotiations.

The multi-year agreements will be delivered via ASG’s Cloud-based ‘New World’ software-as-a-service (SaaS) model.

While unable to disclose client names or the individual value of each contract, ASG Group chief operating officer (COO), Dean Langenbach, told ARN the wins span the engineering, procurement, and construction management (EPCM), mining, and state and federal government sectors, which represent its core business.

Among the wins are the signings of key Federal Agencies, such as the Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB), which the ASG Group attributes to its “early mover approach… in developing responsive New World business solutions,” including its ‘Department in a Box’ and ‘ERP-as-a-service’.

“As increase focus is placed on ICT to deliver in a cost effective manner, particularly as a result of the Commission of Audit findings, the traditional resource-intensive model involving the Agencies owning assets with the associated capital and operating costs is not sustainable,” ASG chief executive officer (CEO), Geoff Lewis, said.

“Agencies at all levels are seeing the benefits realised by ASG’s New World model.”

The service provider is also chasing large opportunities in manufacturing, and to a lesser extent the financial services and airline industries.

Langenbach said the further $A80 million in the works is expected to be sealed within the next three months, with contracts spanning the aforementioned verticals.

The ASX-listed ASG Group reported in February that its New World strategy was key to its financial rebound; it reported a profit of $A3.8m, which equated to an earnings per share of $A1.85. The figure marks a notable increase from the previous corresponding period’s loss of $A4.6m.

To build on these results, ASG said it is expanding the range of New World services being provided to existing clients, including Clough and Future Fund.

The services will cover the complete range of ASG’s integrated business offering; its service brokerage, business intelligent (BI), SAP, and Oracle offerings will be delivered on an as-a-service basis, and leverage existing partnerships with the likes of Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Cisco in provisioning the underlying technology platform.
