Broadband Solutions installs single fibre at Kingswood Primary School

ISP hired to boost technology initiatives

Australian Internet services provider, Broadband Solutions, has installed a single fibre data connection within Kingswood Primary School to counter its shortage of on-site bandwidth.

The connection was deployed beside the NSW Department of Education’s provided connection – through which bandwidth is allocated based on schools’ enrolment figures – and linked using a manageable router.

The School required the solution as its self-implemented bring-your-own-device (BYOD) for staff and Apple iPad for students programs caused severe bandwidth problems on the back device congestion on its network.

“[Broadband Solutions] came to us with a comprehensive plan that met all of our requirements, offering reliable high-speed Internet connection with a simple interface for its moderation,” Kingswood Primary School’s ICT coordinator, Aaron Cox, said.

Broadband Solutions claims the technology has provided the School with the network speeds it requires, managed via an interface which allows Web site moderation.

With the new connection in place, Kingswood Primary School is now looking at means of expanding its iPad and technology programs to all areas of the school.
