Intel has appointed Jennifer Mulveny as director of Cloud policy and government affairs for Australia and New Zealand (A/NZ).

Intel said Mulveny will work with government bodies in various areas including international trade, privacy, security, Cloud computing and internet governance.

According to Intel A/NZ managing director, Kate Burleigh, the appointment reinforces the vendor’s commitment to working with government to develop and support policies that help promote innovation.

“At a time when technology developments are moving faster than policies can keep up, Jennifer will help educate various agencies on issues such as the efficiencies of Cloud computing and the role Intel can play in informing consumers on critical areas such as privacy and security," Burleigh said.

Mulveny’s previous role was as a lobbyist for Intel in the United States Senate.

Prior to joining Intel, she was employed as director of global trade policy at Hewlett Packard.

Mulveny was a political appointment at the Office of the United States Trade Representative in the Office of Congressional Affairs during the final passage of the Australia-US free trade agreement.
