A month long wait for the Apple iPhone 6 on pre-order has prompted more than 200 Australians to hire someone to stand in line for them ahead of tomorrow's launch.
The time-challenged Apple fanatics are using task outsourcing app, Airtasker, to find somebody willing to pull up some pavement for a lengthy period for a nominated fee.
Globally there were over 4 million first day pre-orders logged for the new phones, according to Apple, and with analysts expecting up to 10 million units sold in the first weekend, lining up outside stores may be the best chance consumers have of receiving a handset on Friday.
So far, 215 taskmasters have set an iPhone queue task at an average price of $163.
The average wait time was 10.5 hours, assuming they get to the front of the line by midday.
Airtasker chief executive, Tim Fung, said Airtasker was growing rapidly as more Australians discovered you could outsource chores.
"Including lining up for the latest gadgets - to friendly workers for an affordable price," he said.
