Internode wins advertising gong for campaign using fictional languages from Game of Thrones and Star Trek

Internode has received a bronze CLIO award for an advertising campaign featuring fictional languages from Game of Thrones, The Lord of the Rings and Star Trek.

The ISP received the accolade for a radio campaign that began in the middle of last year and were voiced entirely in three fictionally based languages.

Australian company Marketforce received the awards for three adds voiced in languages from popular science fiction and fantasy.

The Klingon (Star Trek) radio spot won the award for advertising excellence.

Adds voiced in Elvish (Lord of the Rings) and Dothraki (Game of Thrones) also featured in the radio campaign.

Internode said the campaign also had an impact on sales due to the “quirkiness and memorability” of the advertisements.

iiNet marketing manager, Jane Orchard, who oversaw the Klingon campaign, said it had aimed to capture the Internode essence, describing the firm as “a fun geeky brand that’s never afraid to be different.”

“The Klingon campaign captured this beautifully and it’s wonderful that the world’s advertising industry has recognised it as an outstanding piece of creativity.”

The CLIO awards are presented annually to reward innovation and creative excellence in advertising, design and communication.
