Centrify doubles Cloud customers

Growing customer adoption and broad industry support lead to 2014 increase

Centrify Corporation has doubled its Cloud customer base since the beginning of 2014.

The unified identity management company is touting the rise of Identity-as-a-service (IDaaS) as a major driver for growth during 2014.

The firm said that thousands of its customers are adopting converged mobility and identity solutions. This is apparently due to demand from employees for single sign-on (SSO) access to Cloud applications via mobile devices.

Centrify chief executive, Tom Kemp, said the firm’s user suite is bespoke for both identity and access management (IAM) and enterprise mobility management (EMM).

“Instead of piecing together disparate product lines, from day one we took a fresh approach by natively integrating single sign-on and provisioning in a mobile environment. We know that in a world where users switch from device to device, the real imperative is not securing a device at a given point of time but continuously securing users and their identity.”

The firm said its customers appreciate the convenience of a single sign-on Cloud product. Centrify expansion has been exponential of late. It recently entered the Australian market through deployment in Microsoft’s new Azure datacentre.

The company has also made several new additions to its user suite. Centrify said these include improved support for on-premises apps, a feature that allows users to connect to the behind-the-firewall apps they need via a single software install. The suite also now provides support for multiple active directory domains in a single tenant, said to assist with complexity in large organisations and if companies are merged or acquired.
