Acronis has appointed Lincoln Goldsmith as the new head of its Australia and New Zealand (A/NZ) Business.

Goldsmith was promoted from his role as the data protection company’s mobility sales director for the region.

In the new role, Goldsmith will be responsible for Acronis’ push to expand its distribution channel. Speaking of the new role, he said:

“My focus is on leveraging Acronis’ expanding product set to engage with the right customers and the right partners to increase our growth across the two countries. Driven by our AnyData Engine, we now offer very high-level new generation data protection technology providing file sync, share and access products as well as on-premise and to-the-Cloud backup and recovery solutions – covering consumer to SMB and enterprise. This is a very exciting time to be at the helm of the local operation.”

Goldsmith will now report to the president of Acronis International and executive vice president of Asia Pacific, Japan & Emerging Markets, Jan-Jaap Jager.

“Due to the widespread acceptance of Cloud, mobility and backup in A/NZ, this region will be a very important growth point for Acronis within the coming years. With his deep knowledge of our marketplace and the Acronis channel, the new drivers for partners’ success and the value of our technologies, we know that Lincoln is the right person to deliver on our expectations,” Jager said.

The new GM takes on the role while Acronis is actively seeking to build momentum in the region. The firm has recently acquired BackupAgent for service providers and the nScaled Disaster Recovery-as-a-Service portfolio.

The company plans to announce the release of new access solutions in the coming week. These include data access, sync and share editions for small to midsize businesses (SMBs) and larger enterprises.

Acronis has moved ANZ head offices to North Sydney to better support local expansion with demonstration, training and customer and partner meeting facilities.
