Saba has opened it’s first Australian datacentre in Sydney.
The human resources firm made the official announcement at its A/NZ and APAC regional summit in Sydney.
Saba chief Cloud officer and senior vice-president of engineering and operations, Srinivas Ogireddy, said the opening of the centre was the latest proof of the firm’s commitment to Australia.
“With Australia being the most mature SaaS market in the region, it made the most business sense for Saba to open its first APAC Saba Cloud datacentre here.”
The datacentre is the first for the company in Asia. The company has existing data centres in Europe and North America.
Saba said the new centre was launched to comply with the recent Australian data privacy legislation that came into effect in March 2014.
The firm emphasised that the regional centre will improve performance due to proximity. Saba claims an uptime for its platform is 99.9 per cent.
Saba senior vice-president and general manager of growth markets, Olivier Ghezi, said in his introductory address that the service is effectively running at 99.99 per cent uptime.
“This is because we have built Saba Cloud to work in the Cloud only and not behind the firewall.”
