Unified business communications solutions vendor, ShoreTel, has announced global plans to merge its on-premises and Cloud platforms. According to the company, the rationale behind this move is to get the channel more involved in Cloud services.
As a result, it’s created a new category within its unified communications solutions that revolves around a hybrid Cloud platform.
ShoreTel A/NZ managing director, Jamie Romanin, said this common platform will provide its local partners with an improved user interface and a range of new features while operating in three consumption models – Cloud, premises and hybrid.
“It's an important step to enable our partners to easily transition to the Cloud. Shortly, we will be starting an international beta program with select partners and customers to test a range of scenarios and new features," he mentioned.
But, further details of its common platform are “under wraps” and it will only share more about its hybrid platform with its partners during the ShoreTel Champion Partner Conference in Orlando in late April.
It also added that it “won’t be in a position to discuss the changes in more detail until later in the year”.
