Sumo Logic increases A/NZ focus

Wants to build more channel relationships in the region

Cloud-based machine data analytics service, Sumo Logic, is building up its partner relationships to help expand into Australia and Asia Pacific markets.

Sumo Logic made its move into the APAC region in July last year and has since accrued more than 40 customers in the A/NZ region including Australia Post, Webjet and Spark Ventures.

Sumo Logic Asia Pacific managing director, Stephen Cottrell, said it was actively looking for channel partners.

“We’re looking for the right number of partners that want to be successful and grow in the region,” Cottrell said. “We provide a competitive advantage in the market. If there’s a partner that’s looking for a niche, a new revenue stream to help drive business, then we would be a good potential for them.”

It has six people on the ground in Australia and relationships with partners such as OCG Systems.

Sumo Logic recently launched a partner portal and provides co-funding for training requirements and events.

In A/NZ, about 20 per cent of Sumo Logic’s business is indirect.

Cottrell said it would be expanding in the future into Singapore, Hong Kong and Japan.

“We really work with our partners so that the best outcomes for our customers are achieved. By taking that approach, we’ve seen our customer growth and partner interest increase,” he said.
