eCommerce software developer, ShipIT, has partnered with Australia Post to offer order and shipping management for online purchases.
ShipIT said the partnership enables an integrated order and shipping management system to reduce administrative work for companies.
ShipIT chief executive, George Plummer, said the solution offers customers a single platform to access orders and delivery status from multiple platforms.
“Shipping has traditionally been a manual process. This means that merchants have to cut and paste order data, handwrite courier labels and manually create customs forms and documents,” he said.
Online shopping by Australians has increased nearly 10 per cent in one year according to National Australia Bank’s latest online retail sales index.
Australia Post general manager global eCommerce platforms and marketplaces, Ben Franzi, said the national postal service has adapted to meet the needs of online shopping in Australia.
He said the partnership will provide businesses with greater transparency and insight across all logistical requirements, allowing for a more seamless delivery experience.
ShipIT’s customers are able to ship anywhere from five to ten packages per week and thousands of packages per day.
