Samsung's flagship tablet and 4GB of Internet from $42 a month

Welcome to the post-PC era

Vodafone is offering Samsung’s 2015 flagship tablet, the Galaxy Tab S2, on its 24 month wireless broadband plans as of today.

The telco is selling the 9.7-inch and the 8-inch version of Samsung’s 4G tablets on its 4GB wireless broadband plan. Pricing is a respective $54 and $42 per month over a two year contract.

Vodafone’s largest mobile broadband plan comes with a 50GB monthly allowance and is priced at $140. The 8-inch tablet is free over the life of the 24 month contract, although the 9.7-inch model is an additional cost of $12 a month.

Samsung’s flagship Tab S2 tablets went on sale in Australia last week. The slates will be compatible with Vodafone’s Cat4 LTE network, which has a theoretical maximum speed of 150Mbps.

Specifications of the two tablets are largely shared in spite of the screen size. Both tablets have a 2048x1536 resolution, use an sAMOLED panel, are powered by Samsung’s octa-core Exynos 533 chipset and have 32GB of internal storage.

The battery in the 9.7-inch, 4G variant managed to loop a video for 10-and-a-half hours during a test undertaken in our full review.

Outright retail pricing for the larger tablet is $749, while the similarly equipped 8-inch model costs $100 less at $649.

Following is Vodafone's plan matrix for the Galaxy Tab S2 as per the official press release.
