IT security company, AVG Technologies, has released its 2016 Business Edition software suite featuring with new versions of its AVG AntiVirus Business Edition and AVG Internet Security Business Edition products.

AVG said the updated suite provides enterprise scale security to channel partners and SMBs in the frontline defence against malware and online threats.

AVG Technologies social media and security awareness director, Michael McKinnon, said the 2016 suite offers the latest enhancement in AVGs ability to detect malware.

“Traditionally, every year we launch a new antivirus scanning engine as part of our protection products. The upgrade presents the latest enhancement in our ability to detect malware. We have already scored a 100 per cent detection rate through an independent it security institute called Av-test,” he said.

The 2016 suite also includes a free remote management console that enables channel partners fast remote access to all systems on a network as well as the ability to manage multiple domains on the network. McKinnon said the console is advantageous for MSPs.

“The remote management console is how MSPs can manage a roll-out within a network. With your own business, you want to be able to roll-out your antivirus software across multiple machines and devices . It is important to manage the network and understand which devices are not available or dropped off, and the console allows the administrators to do that,” he said.

Other features of the new upgrade includes real-time outbreak detection powered by crowd intelligence, artificial intelligence detection, online shield, File Shredder and Data Safe, that AVG claims enable businesses to create password-protected virtual disks on their system.

“We have also revised the way the new software is installed to make it easier for channel partners to deploy as quickly as possible,” McKinnon said.

“We appreciate they want to get on with their business and want to deploy security solutions for their customers as quickly as they can. We are always working towards allowing them to do that.”
