Hitachi Data Systems introduces HFS A series family

Customisable solution designed for virtual desktop, virtual server real-time analytics and database environments

Information storage and virtualisation company, and wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi, Hitachi Data Systems (HDS) has added the Hitachi Flash Storage (HFS) A series family to its flash portfolio.

HDS claimed the simplified appliance package is easy to deploy and offers data optimisation technologies for business insights and services delivery across a variety of workloads.

The company said selectable data services include inline data deduplication and compression, thin provisioning, snapshots, replication and data encryption.

HDS also said the updated features enables customisation between turning on or off the inline data de-duplication or compression based on application requirements for a balanced mix between performance and efficiency.

As a result, space can be saved by allocating capacity on demand with thin provisioning technology.

Hitachi Data Systems vice-president of infrastructure platforms, solutions and Cloud, Miklos Sandorfi, said, “Hitachi has delivered a full portfolio of optimised flash solutions bound together by a software-defined approach to storage infrastructure.”

“This gives customers the ability to optimise solutions for a particular set of use cases while getting the power and efficiencies of common management, workflows and policies across their infrastructure,” he added.
