Australians are the first in the Asia-Pacific region to experience Moments, Twitter’s new feature that collects trending Tweets specific to the categories of news, sports, entertainment and fun.
Users can tap on the new lightning bolt icon that opens the list which is updated as new Tweets or information becomes available.
Particular Moments that update frequently such as an awards show, breaking news or live sporting events, can be followed and updates will blend within a user’s timeline stream.
Twitter said in addition to its in-house team that curate specific Moments, it will enable partners to contribute.
Local contributing partners currently include the ABC, The Project, the NRL, the AFL, BuzzFeed and Channel V.
