Australian payments and security solutions provider, EP2, has deployed its infrastructure inside global interconnection and datacentre company, Equinix. The company also has access to access to the Equinix Cloud Exchange, an interconnection platform that aims to enable secure, direct connections to multiple Cloud providers.

EP2’s platform will be housed in Equinix Sydney datacenters.

EP2’s solutions encompasses payment technologies, Level 1 PCI compliant secure hosting and PCI-DSS compliance-as-a-service, and includes services ranging from threat detection to behavioral monitoring and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM).

The new partnership also enables EP2 to offer PCI–as-a-service, leveraging the Equinix Cloud Exchange.

EP2 CEO, Paul Bird, said access to Cloud Exchange enables EP2 to position itself for future growth, innovation and enhanced payments capabilities domestically and globally. Bird said it also reduces the complexity and increases security for companies that manage digital payments.

“By deploying inside Equinix, EP2 can leverage Equinix’s robust financial services ecosystem – including direct connections to many of the leading providers in digital commerce, to offer businesses an end-to-end secure hosting and payments solution.

“With access to Equinix Cloud Exchange, EP2 is able to gain direct, secure access to multiple Cloud service providers, thus enabling its customers to achieve hybrid cloud strategies in a secure, cost-effective environment,” he said.

According to Bird, the company selected Equinix for its global reach and connected financial eco-system.

“Efficient and effective delivery of security, compliance and payments processing as services needs to be built from a highly technical and capable foundation, and Equinix Cloud Exchange allows for multi-Cloud connectivity, and faster, direct connections to key players in the industry, which supports our customers’ hybrid Cloud strategies, all within a highly secure environment.”

Equinix Australia managing director, Jenremy Deutsch, said EP2’s PCI-as-a-service solution has the capacity to reduce complexity for organisations managing their own digital payments and that their customers will benefit from a single, highly secure interface and environment.

“We’re thrilled that Equinix’s Cloud Exchange is the engine powering EP2’s innovation.

“In the financial services industry in particular, seamless and secure connections between people, locations, clouds and data are increasingly essential to market differentiation and growth. Companies like EP2 which place interconnection at the heart of their IT strategy are the ones who stand to lead the field,” he added.
