Security, storage, and application delivery company, Barracuda Networks, has signed on Synnex as its distributor in A/NZ.
As part of the new agreement, Synnex will distribute Barracuda’s Cloud backup and storage, content security and disaster recovery solutions within the A/NZ region. The network security and Cloud-to-Cloud backup solutions are for Microsoft Office 365.
Barracuda also has an existing distributor relationship with Exclusive Networks.
Synnex A/NZ CEO, Kee Ong, said the partnership enables the company to offer partners with a complete offering.
“We are excited to be partnering with Barracuda as we offer the complete Barracuda NextGen Firewalls, Web Security, Load Balancer and Cloud Backup solutions to our channel partners. Solutions such as the Barracuda Cloud-to-Cloud Backup for Office 365 is a great add-on service for partners with an existing Cloud migration and backup services offering.”
He also recently told ARN that Cloud is a big play for the company this year. Some of its other recent Cloud-based distribution deals include MYOB and Act-On.
Barracuda Asia-Pacific sales vice-president, James Forbes-May, said the relationship with Synnex brings many opportunities to partners and customers in the region.
“Today flexibility of licensing, deployment options, purchasing and billing are critical success factors for IT.
“Barracuda’s solutions enhance the capabilities of Microsoft Office 365 with SaaS-based solutions, networking and application security for public Cloud, Backup and Archiving for hybrid environments and Cloud-based Centralised Management to name a few,” he said.
Synnex Australia e-commerce & Cloud services general manager, Michael Tea, said as the company expands its Cloud Marketplace for channel partners, the Barracuda range can be ordered and deployed with Barracuda Cloud, which leverages on-demand Cloud computing to simplify security, data protection and IT management.
“Channel partners have the option to choose how much of the Barracuda Cloud capabilities are needed while keeping on-premise control over digital information.
“We have been evaluating Cloud backup solutions in the market for our channel partners since last year and decided on Barracuda, as they have many deployment options for partners to choose from that best fits their end client needs,” Tea said.
This can be a Barracuda physical appliance, virtual appliance, Cloud-to-Cloud backup or specifically Office 365 Backup deployment solutions. Evaluation units can be purchased at discounted rates by partners if they need to run proof of concepts with their end clients.
Barracuda security and data protection offerings can be deployed in Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, and VMware vCloud Air.
