Optus Business inks multi-million dollar deal with QBE Australia

New three year deal sees Optus deliver voice, mobile and data network services for global insurer

Telecommunications company, Optus Business, has signed a new, three year ICT services contract with global insurer, QBE Australia, that will see Optus deliver voice, mobile and data network services for the business.

The company said it is a multi-million dollar deal but did not disclose the exact monetary value of it.

The new contract supports voice and data services, connecting more than 4000 QBE end users across 42 locations throughout Australia using the Optus network.

Optus Business managing director, John Paitaridis, said the company looks forward to supporting QBE with a range of ICT services to support its business growth, speed to market and improve customer service.

“We’re delighted with the new three year partnership between QBE Australia and Optus," Paitaridis said.

"Optus has a track record of providing ICT and mobile services to enterprise and government organisations in Australia and across the Asia-Pacific region.

“The new three-year contract with QBE is testament to the depth of our experience and capability. Our goal is to work closely with our enterprise customers to create shared value and market advantage."

QBE Australia chief information officer, Tony Forward, said the deal will strengthen its commitment to innovation in the insurance services market.

“QBE is committed to a continued focus on innovation in the insurance services market in Australia," he added.

"The strategic partnership with Optus will support QBE’s strategy to offer more personalised and compelling customer experiences."
