New partners named for Govt’s cloud services panel

The Citadel Group, Axios Systems and TLS Consulting are among the new partners inducted into the Government’s cloud services procurement arrangement

The Citadel Group, Axios Systems and TLS Consulting are among the new partners to named among the growing list of inductees to the Federal Government’s cloud services procurement panel arrangement.

Australian Federal Government CTO, John Sheridan, revealed the list of 11 new partners on 2 March, saying that all the new panellists would soon be submitting services for inclusion on the cloud services panel service catalogue.

Services provided by the new panellists are set to become available for public agencies to procure via the government’s ICT Procurement Portal.

The latest partners to join the whole-of-government cloud services procurement arrangement come hot on the heels of a series of new appointments to the panel.

On 16 February, the Federal Department of Finance announced seven new inductees to the panel, including Qualtrics, Axalon and QAL Technologies. Earlier in February, the government welcomed 12 new panellists, including Fujitsu, Teradata Australia, and Ricoh Australia.

To date, the Government’s cloud services panel claims 170 local IT providers as suppliers, with names such as CA Technologies, Bulletproof, Cisco Systems Australia, Data#3, iiNet, IBM Australia, and Dimension Data Australia among those on the ever-increasing list of partners.

The Department of Finance established the whole-of-government cloud services panel In January 2015. The procurement panel arrangement’s current standing offer runs from 30 January 2015 to 31 March 2018.

According to the Department of Finance, the cloud services panel approach to market was conducted in June 2016, with the Department anticipating that the panel will be refreshed in 12-18 months' time, depending on demand.

The aim of the panel arrangement is to offer public agencies a “scalable and flexible cloud services via industry offerings and do so in a way that reduces the burden on industry,” according to Sheridan.

The panel covers platform-as-a-service, software-as-a-service, and infrastructure-as-a-service, along with services such as cloud service optimisation and integration
