Dicker Data is intensifying its storage play in Australia, signing a distribution deal with Pure Storage.
The distributor’s new partnership closely follows one it inked with Dell EMC, covering the vendor's entire portfolio of storage and other products.
Under the terms of the agreement, Dicker Data will distribute the whole Pure Storage range of solutions, making it the company’s second distributor in the Australian market alongside Arrow ECS A/NZ.
Pure Storage Asia-Pacific and Japan director of channels and alliances Dino Soepono said the vendor appointed Dicker Data as its newest distributor to support the growing demand for storage solutions in Australia.
“We have experienced unprecedented growth in Australia, and [are] seeing strong demand for our cloud-ready data platform," Soepono said.
“Dicker Data is a standout distributor with extensive experience and an excellent reputation across Australia. It is an obvious choice for when it came to partnering a new distributor to support our growth across the region."
Being one of Cisco’s largest distributors in Australia was another key reason behind the partnership, according to Soepono.
As Pure Storage’s FlashStack converged infrastructure solution works with Cisco, he said Dicker Data will not only provide its partner network with access to Pure Storage’s data platform, but also accelerate the adoption of the solution.
“The FlashStack solution combines the latest in compute, network, and storage hardware into a single, integrated architecture, speeding time to deployment, lowering overall IT costs, and reducing deployment risk," he added.
"The solution, comprising Cisco Unified Computing System (Cisco UCS) and Pure Storage, is a modular and scalable platform.
"Working with the team at Dicker Data will support the hunger for FlashStack and our portfolio of cloud era data solutions."
Dicker Data CEO and chairman, David Dicker, said the company welcomes Pure Storage into its vendor line-up.
“The alliance between Cisco and Pure Storage is one of the key drivers behind this move as we look to proactively position their products into our extensive Cisco partner base," he added.
"This strategy will assist us to scale quickly and gain access to incremental revenue that we may not have otherwise captured."
As part of the partnership, Dicker Data also joins the Pure Partner Program (P3), which provides partners with tools, training and support, including an incentive framework, a fully automated partner marketing platform, and co-branded demand generation campaigns.
Pure Storage said it will continue to invest in its relationships with its distributors and technology partners in order to scale and deliver customer experience and performance.
“Since inception we have considered our channel partners to be part of the Pure family," Soepono added. "[They] are critical to our success and in reaching new customers. We see the partnership with Dicker Data as a key piece of the puzzle when it comes to regional growth."
Dicker Data also recently struck a deal to take on distribution duties for BenQ Australia’s range of LCD monitors in the local market and according to Dicker, plans to potentially expand into the UK market or Europe in future.
