nbn, the company behind the rollout of the National Broadband Network (NBN), is on the lookout for three people to fill the roles of ICT channel manager and ICT channel program manager.

The executives will report to Keith Masterton, the former Telstra channel leader who took on the role of executive manager ICT channel development in July.

“The appointment of these roles will ensure we are well positioned to work with industry to meet the needs of Australian businesses as they move to the nbn access network,” Masterton told ARN.

“We aim to launch the new channel [program] later this year and we are building out the team to support in the delivery of this program.”

As revealed by job posts on LinkedIn, of the three roles up for grabs, the ICT channel managers will be in charge of leading the implementation of the Business Segment ICT channel engagement strategy with a selected portfolio of vendors, distributors and channel partners.

According to Masterton the channel manager position will own engagement with key vendors, distributors and solution providers across the industry, while the channel program manager will drive the marketing and accreditation elements of the program to ensure that as many ICT partners as possible are educated about the new network.

“We want to ensure that we have the appropriate skills and resources to ensure we can support partners effectively and in turn provide a good customer experience for businesses using services over nbn access network,” he added

The ICT channel program manager will lead and manage the development and execution of the ICT channel program for the nbn Business Segment.

According to the job ad, the channel program manager will focus on identifying, educating, engaging and influencing indirect partners to successfully execute the ICT channel program - nbn expects to have the team in place by the end of October.

Masterton, who took on the executive manager ICT channel role only a few months ago said he had been working on engagement and consultation with a wide cohort of industry players to inform the development of the channel strategy.

“This has included engagement with key vendors, distributors, partners and retail service providers," he added. "In parallel, there has been development of IT systems, training material and content to support the launch.

“We are excited to partner with the ICT industry to show Australian businesses how the nbn access network can support digital transformation and underpin future business growth."
