NetMotion hunts for A/NZ resellers to drive local expansion

Wants customers in mission critical businesses, utilities and transportation

Mobile performance and analytics vendor, NetMotion, is actively pursuing partners in Australia and New Zealand following the appointment of Daniel Pratt as country manager for both countries.

The US-headquartered company was established in 2001 and, according to Pratt, has been present in Australia for 10 years with customers being serviced from the US or UK.

NetMotion’s Mobility software works by insulating applications from instabilities in networks enabling users to roam seamlessly between Wi-Fi and mobile operator networks.

“Many organisations have to service the vast rural areas between the major cities,” said Pratt. “This poses significant connectivity challenges because carrier coverage is notoriously spotty in these areas. NetMotion software helps bridge these coverage gaps to keep workers connected and productive no matter where their work takes them.”

Pratt told ARN that NetMotion will focus on customers that can get more value from the vendor’s solution such as organisations with a highly mobile workforce, working with mission critical applications, utilities and transportation.

NetMotion’s Mobility software allows for the creation of rules regarding access to applications so that mission-critical applications are prioritised over other traffic.

The company also has Diagnostics software that helps IT teams to pinpoint root causes of mobile connectivity and wireless networking problems and its Mobile IQ, which enables organisations to visualise real-time information and insights needed.

Pratt said that since his appointment in August he has had time to establish contact with existing customers and understand how they use NetMotion’s solutions. Pratt also talked to existing partners and new potential partners.

Pratt joined NetMotion from Reekoh where he had been the regional sales manager for six months. Before that he worked for MobileIron, first in the UK from June 2013 to February 2015 as the public sector sales manager for UK and Ireland later taking the A/NZ regional sales manager role up to December 2016.

Pratt has more than 15 years of experience in enterprise mobility and end user computing having also worked for European IoT platform provider, Wireless Logic, Isis Telecommunications and BlackBerry when it was still called Research in Motion.
