Extreme Networks has officially named former senior network consultant Julian Critchlow as its channel manager for Australia and New Zealand.

The announcement comes as former Extreme Networks A/NZ channel accounts sales manager Yvette McEnearney is officially named as the company’s senior manager of distribution for the US-headquartered networking equipment vendor’s business in Asia Pacific, Japan and China.

While the company has only just chosen to announce the new appointments, it is understood that both Critchlow and McEnearney have both been acting in their respective roles for at least past few months.

According to Extreme Networks, the appointments follow the strategic acquisitions of Zebra’s WLAN business, Avaya’s networking unit and Brocade’s data centre networking business, and reflect the company’s overall momentum and continued investment in the Asia Pacific market.

Critchlow comes to the role after four years with the company. Before stepping into his latest role, he was responsible for a portfolio of Extreme Network’s largest clients in New South Wales and Queensland.

McEnearney, meanwhile, comes to her new role after four years of channel partner and management experience at Extreme Networks and over two decades in the IT industry with the likes of Avaya and NEC.

For Extreme Networks A/NZ managing director Chris Georgellis, both Critchlow and McEnearney claim an “outstanding” track record at Extreme Networks.

Georgellis, who himself was appointed as Extreme Networks managing director for Australia and New Zealand in September last year, replacing John Gonzalez, said he looks forward to seeing the impact the par will have with the vendor’s channel partners locally.

“It is an exciting time in Extreme Networks’ history as we continue to grow and expand our wired and wireless network offerings across the globe whilst investing more resources in the APJC region,” Extreme Networks Asia Pacific vice president Simon Naylor said.

“As a 100 per cent indirect business, our channel partners are critical to our success and the appointment of these senior executives will bring increased focus to boost our footprint in the region.

“Yvette and Julian are veterans of both Extreme and the IT industry and together they make a formidable team focused on enabling and growing our partners in the region,” he said.
