AC3 has won a $6.1 million contract to provide end-to-end infrastructure managed services for the Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal (IPART) of NSW.
The contract was awarded to the Sydney-based provider in August and runs for two years.
Specifically, the contract is divided into two terms with an estimated $3.8 million value for the first term, reaching the estimated $6.8 million if renewed for the second year.
As part of the contract, AC3 will provide a managed end-to-end private cloud environment in GovDC, as well as service integration and management services, including service desk. The service to IPART will be offered on AC3's managed private cloud in GovDC.
AC3 will provide an extension of the IT infrastructure and management services that were previously undertaken in-house within IPART.
According to an IPART spokesperson, the services provided under the contract are "both replacement and enhanced services in line with a broader IT strategy being implemented at IPART".
AC3 is one of the anchor tenants in the two purpose built government data centres at Silverwater and Unanderra, working with vendors to deliver its private cloud including Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Commvault and Palo Alto Networks.
"The tendering process on this project was particularly interesting for me because we spent a lot of time understanding their security control frameworks, which was closely aligned with our security stance," said Briant Kareroa, sales manager of NSW public sector at AC3.
"The storage and compute elements ticked the right boxes, but we felt that the security piece really set us apart."
The contract, available online, had most of its content redacted, however it mentioned that part of the work will include managing existing IPART hardware and software including; two 10G SFP+ ports on the McKell core switches; Meraki (switching and wireless); MDM licences; audio visual equipment; PABX and desk phones and printers.
Furthermore, AC3 will also be responsible for managing IPART's security certificates, in addition to licences across Microsoft Exchange, Lync, SharePoint and SQL.

In September, AC3 revealed it had co-designed and co-developed a cloud native platform on Amazon Web Services (AWS) to help Cadastre NSW, a Department of Finance Services and Innovation's (DFSI) Spatial Services unit, become more agile in its processes.
Meanwhile in May, the business was awarded an $18.1 million contract with the Department of Justice (DoJ).
The contract sees AC3 providing resale of hardware and hardware maintenance as well as support services to the DoJ's network infrastructure.
