How Deloitte packaged up AWS, Salesforce, Sitecore and Okta for Melbourne property developer

Caydon Property Group seeking a seamless digital experience

Caydon Property Group is a Melbourne-based property developer which builds within areas surrounded by cultural and creative spots, never constructing more than 10km from the CBD.

Caydon was looking to deliver a seamless digital experience to its residents and customers and approached Deloitte to help deliver a new website, the roll out of a global CRM and a new customer portal.

To cover those areas, Deloitte recommended a solution that included a CMS from Sitecore, a CRM from Salesforce, infrastructure from Amazon Web Services and Okta for its identity protection.

"Caydon has been focused on building a ‘Digital Master Experience’, and as part of this we needed an identity platform," said Damian Fasciani, technology director at Caydon. "Okta has been a key component of our solution architecture and technology strategy."

Specifically, Caydon explored different methods on how best to build a secure online registration process to ensure customer data was protected in their ecosystem.

One of Caydon's concerns was where it would store customer data and login details, ultimately choosing to do it on Okta over Sitecore.

Additionally, CPG opted to keep customer data in Salesforce using Okta to store and manage the authentication credentials, with consumer self-service registration being powered by Sitecore making an API call to Salesforce and Okta.

As part of the ongoing project, a new global customer portal is being built to combine all of Caydon's property developments under one online presence, rather than having individual sites per property project.

Currently, Caydon also is also present in the US with with developments coming to Houston and Seattle.

"We know identity is at the core of any digital experience and, based on Caydon’s vision, Deloitte suggested Okta as the solution of choice," said Anand Chinnachamy, identity architect of cyber risk at Deloitte Risk Advisory.

"With best of breed technologies such as Sitecore and Salesforce, Okta is the underlying authentication engine and identity layer for the overall solution."

Deloitte deployed Okta as the underlying authentication engine and identity layer for the overall solution.

"With the change in privacy laws and an increasing focus on data protection, Caydon wanted to ensure we have a strong position in how we approach and secure our new digital experience," Fasciani said.

"Gartner has named Okta as the global leader in the identity space, and partnering with them lowers our risk, strengthens our position on security and shows our commitment to securing our customer data.

"It allows us to focus on our customers, knowing we have the strength of an identity platform to provide a secure and seamless online customer experience."

Now, Caydon users can create an account in order to track properties.

Also, upon purchasing a Caydon property, the customer portal allows for full visibility over the build of the buyer's property online, giving users the ability to book a consultation, access key documentation or receive personalised content based on their development.
