Dayle Wilson (Macquarie Government)
Former Brennan IT COO Dayle Wilson has returned to Macquarie Telecom Group as the government business unit's head of product and operations, a newly created role.
Wilson, who returned to the company in December 2018, will be in charge of supporting business’s expanding range of built-for-government services, including its Australian Signals Directorate (ASD)-certified Government cloud service.
He was most recently Brennan IT COO where he was responsible for several of the company's business units and the management of more than 250 people.
Prior to joining Brennan IT, Wilson had spent 13 years with the Macquarie Telecom Group in several roles which led to his appointment of CTO in 2015.
“This is an exciting time in Macquarie Government, with the ongoing investment in building cloud and information security services and products to precisely meet the needs of government agencies now and into the future,” Wilson said.
He also said that Macquarie Government is focused on understanding and meeting the needs of government agency customers.
"Macquarie Government’s rapid growth over the past few years, along with increased focus on expanding our cyber security product roadmap of capabilities, is the reason for the new role," Wilson explained to ARN.
"Macquarie Telecom’s commitment to build the new data centre [Intellicentre 3 East] IC3 building out the Macquarie Park campus means it has invested to split one role into two, with the new role designed to ensure its government customers receive operational management and product development solely focused on their needs."
In August 2018, Macquarie Telecom announced the expansion of its Macquarie Park Intellicentre capacity from 10 megawatts (MW) to 43MW total load.
The company expects to invest up to $80 million on building IC3 which will occupy 13,400 square metres.
“I’m excited to have the opportunity to come back to Macquarie to be a part of building what I believe is a business for the future,” he said.
Brennan IT has told ARN it has no plans to replace Wilson at this point.
