Optus Business and Wholesale has sided with Sophos as its main cyber security technology partner.
The partnership involves using Sophos’ endpoint protection, web and email filtering products as well as Sophos Central, which helps manage a customer's security environment from a single dashboard.
“Our goal is to protect the data of small businesses at the points where it is most vulnerable – at the endpoint and through phishing and suspicious URL attacks that target users through web and email,” Optus business and wholesale managing director Ben White said.
Recently appointed Sophos A/NZ managing director, John Donovan, added the partnership will extend its enterprise-grade protection to small businesses across the country.
“Sophos is a channel first, channel best company and we develop programs and products with the needs of our partners at the core,” he said.
Donovan joined Sophos in April, tasked with driving growth on both sides of the Tasman, in addition to overseeing strategy, go-to-market planning and operations locally.
"I believe Sophos’ synchronised security vision uniquely positions it in the local market and this, coupled with its 100 per cent channel approach, provides the right programs for A/NZ channel partners to deliver the security solutions local customers need," Donovan said at the time of his appointment when speaking exclusively to ARN.
"My responsibility is to focus on building stronger relationships with the partner community and providing support to the local team in areas in which we can build out."
