TBS Distribution has launched a new program designed to help two or more partners connect for a specific project under its supervision.

Known as P2P – or partner-to-partner –, the program is intended to help the distributor's channel network collaborate more effectively in deploying its telecommunication solutions in Australia.

According to the distributor, the program will give smaller partners the chance to grow, while giving bigger players a wider reach.

Headquartered in Cairns and with offices in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney, TBSD is an ICT specialist that works with more than 140 Telstra dealers and specialist services partners. The distributor is also one of four distribution partners within Telstra's enterprise partner sales channel.

The program will include bundled products such as Smart TVs, GPS tracking, mining village management software and a full suite of media and web services, with more to be announced.

“One thing that has always stood out to me is how little businesses collaborate on projects in our industry," said TBSD managing director Jim Bradley. "And I see time and time again smaller operators walking away from a deal because they don’t feel they have the skill or backing to be able to execute it to the clients specifications."

The program allows partners to work with each other under an agreement produced by TBSD with clearly stated rules and commissions declared upfront.

Partners can close deals and focus on the work they can do while subcontracting areas they do not normally cover. By working with other telecommunications resellers, partners will be able to close deals in areas they lack presence, the distributor claimed.

TBSD's system pledges to match best suitable partners with the correct skills and within a desired location. In addition, P2P will use industry-trained experts to make the final decisions on partner allocation.

The distributor told ARN that if partners had a preferred partner in mind, it would be "happy to work with partners outside our current network and support partners with existing relationships or a preferred relationship".

In case a partner runs into trouble during a project, the distributor said it would also be help to support it then via its project management support services and coordinate and manage the deliverables through its system.

"Joining the P2P Program means your business will be stronger being part of a group," the distributor said.

TBSD employed an entire team to roll out the P2P program and manage the on-boarding process across Australia, with Darryl Posgate leading the program.
