MicroStrategy partner firm Ioppolo & Associates has overhauled the analytics platform of a Western Australian insurance company.
The Perth-based consultancy helped RAC Insurance take its MicroStrategy on-premises analytics platform into the vendor's Microsoft Azure-powered cloud.
Ioppolo first began working with RAC on the project two years ago and expects the full transition to be completed by November.
According to the MicroStrategy, the old system produced daily reports of transactional and operational data as spreadsheets that were “cumbersome” to use and needed manual effort. Under the new system however, these reports are updated automatically, thereby "optimising" RAC's workflow.
RAC Insurance project delivery manager Kevin Squires said the push into the cloud was required to improve its systems' scalability and reliability, adding that the new cloud system is predicted to meet those needs.
“RAC Insurance plans to use MicroStrategy Cloud Platform on Azure to create many new data points relating to members by leveraging predictive analytics,” Squires said. “This will potentially help RAC Insurance unlock significant competitive advantage, increase profitability, and drive growth opportunities.
“The cloud will also let RAC Insurance work at a higher velocity with stronger collaboration between the business and IT departments.”
Brent Klesura, data scientist at RAC Insurance, said the MicroStrategy platform will help the business by producing trustworthy and timely information.
“This lets RAC Insurance staff focus exclusively on improving the value of the derived insights so that the business can drive outcomes more efficiently,” he added.
