Networking solutions provider Netgear has announced an engineering support centre for professional audio video (Pro AV) integrators developing AV solutions over IP networking.
Revealed at the Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association (CEDIA) Expo in Denver, the service will be aimed at AV installers, consultants, manufacturers and resellers who are conducting installation and designing projects and plans.
Users in Australia and New Zealand will be able to contact the support centre 24/7, alongside those in the Asia Pacific, North America and Europe regions.
They will have access to free network design assistance, training, deployment and installation support, product training, troubleshooting and problem escalation.
In addition, they will have the ability to relay issues to project management and access to the research and development team from pre-sale through to post-sale.
The support centre is made up of eight networking professionals from Netgear, with two based in the US, two based in the UK, one based in Germany, one based in France, one based in Japan and one based in China. The team will be led by Laurent Masia, director of product line management, managed switches and Pro AV for Netgear.
According to a Netgear statement, the centre's creation reflects a refocus on the needs of the AV industry and residential systems integrators.
Netgear's move to AV over IP networks is a first for the company, Masia claimed.
"We are in the market to simplify and streamline IP networking for small and medium partners who don’t have the resources, the budget, or the right IT teams to leverage more complex AV installations, he said.
“This team is supporting AV customers, system integrators and manufacturers across the world and in different time zones, including Australia.”
