Adelaide-based Hitech Distribution has blitzed eastern state rivals to claim the Acer Computers national growth award, after recording more than a $1 million boost in business during the last financial year.
The privately owned company added the extra million dollars in Acer sales after Compaq was dropped from its product offerings last year.
John Winter, Hitech sales manager, attributes the companies strong growth rate to its commitment to supporting the reseller channel. "While customers increasingly use our website to check stock availability and the status of orders they still relish the personal contact we provide," he said.
"One of our biggest growth areas comes from resellers in the regional areas of Australia which has meant an investment in good tyres," says Winter.
Hitech is South Australia's largest locally owned distributor of hardware, software and services and has a client base of approximately 1200 resellers.
As well as the cash-and-carry supermarket distribution facility for resellers it offers technical support and a Web site aimed at providing comprehensive product catalogue and account tracking details.
Products distributed by the company include Acer, NEC, Epson, Lexmark, Microsoft, Symantec, Miro, MYOB, and Sola.
