Ndevr brings on first environmental consultant

Oracle partner and environmental software player builds out a new division focused on organisations affected by the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting act

Oracle partner and environment software developer, Ndevr, has appointed its first senior environmental consultant to improve and expand its newly established Environmental Consulting division.

According to a statement, Matt Drum will assist customers around National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting (NGER) compliance requirements and future environmental liabilities as laid out by the Federal Government. The NGER act was introduced by Parliament on July 1, 2008 in a bid to provide data and legislation which could contribute to the Australian Emissions Trading Scheme.

Prior to joining Ndevr, Drum was assistant director with the Greenhouse and Energy Reporting Office, which sits inside the Department of Climate Change. During his tenure, he assisted with developing NGER policies and the Energy Efficiency Opportunities program. He also worked closely with the teams drafting the proposed Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme legislation.

Alongside his work around environmental policy, Drum has participated in various public sector groups including Australian Constructor’s Association, the Property Council of Australia, the National Generator’s Forum and the Australian Petroleum Production and Exploration Association.

Ndevr CEO, Maureen Clifford, said Drum’s combination of legislative knowledge and consulting skills around environmental compliance made him a significant addition to the company’s team and put him in a strong position to provide advisory services. Well over 10 per cent of the company’s dealings with customers was now around energy reporting and environmental services and was expected to continue expanding as more organisations are required to report under NGER, Clifford said.

She highlighted enterprise-size organisations in construction, engineering and property management as core verticals.

Drum will be supported by a business development manager and marketing resources, Clifford said, but Ndevr will look to bring on additional resources as business grows.
