Software vendor LiveTiles has appointed Microsoft veteran David Vander as its global growth director.

Based in Sydney, Vander will be responsible for advising leaders and teams within the publicly-listed company and identifying new business opportunities globally, in the newly-created role.

Originally from Australia, Vander has 20 years of experience in global strategy and leadership at Microsoft and Cap Gemini.

He was most recently worldwide industry lead for Microsoft’s services division in Sydney. Before then, he acted as Asia Pacific services lead in Singapore.

Prior to moving to Asia, Vander spent six years in Seattle as worldwide sales excellence lead for Microsoft’s enterprise sales business and worldwide managing director for its banking and financial services industry.

Before joining the company in 2003, he spent four years at Cap Gemini in Sydney.

"David’s appointment marks a significant addition to the LiveTiles team,” founder and CEO Karl Redenbach said. “His appetite for innovation, experience servicing a broad range of sectors and extensive senior leadership experience, bolsters our team at a time when we are focused on expanding our global footprint and driving growth in key markets.”

“Karl’s vision for LiveTiles resonated with my desire to join a tremendous company with great ambitions,” Vander added.

“I am excited by the opportunity to join LiveTiles and look  forward to contributing to its next phase of growth as the Company focuses on expanding opportunities with customers and partners in key markets.”

In August last year, LiveTiles joined forces with Microsoft to launch the AI Spark Partner Program in Australia, which aimed to help partners accelerate the deployment of artificial intelligence for their customers.

Three months later, the company became the first software company to join Microsoft’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) Inner Circle partner program.
