Artis Group’s former boss Chris Greatrex has been appointed to lead NSW operations for Microsoft gold partner Veritec.

Greatex previously led the Sydney-based integrator for nearly eight years, leaving in February this year. He recently held a consulting position at Datacom before being appointed Veritec’s NSW general manager.

According to Veritec, Greatrex was handed the newly created role on the back of his experience with Microsoft. He will report to Veritec CEO Keiran Mott and will be responsible for growing Veritec’s footprint and customer base in NSW.

“[Greatrex] has proven experience in helping customers to build and deploy cloud-based business applications solutions using Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Microsoft Azure,” Mott said.

“We look forward to Chris drawing on his deep expertise to help drive our growth in NSW in the enterprise and State Government sectors specifically. He will also play a role in partnering with the other companies within the FTS Group that also operate out of our Sydney office.”

Canberra-headquartered Veritec is part of FTS Group and currently has more than 150 staff. It recently opened offices in Melbourne and Sydney, the latter of which Greatrex is based.

FTS Group also owns the businesses Anatas, FTS Data & AI, Kobold, SME Gateway and Cubic Consulting.

The company recently won a contract to operate Microsoft’s Modernisation Factory for Australian Federal Government departments and infrastructure providers.

“Veritec has a strong reputation in the industry for having a team of subject matter experts who are passionate about delivering outcomes for their customers,” Greatrex said. “Personally, I see a huge opportunity for me to work with the Veritec team to continue to build on the organisation’s already impressive list of Microsoft competencies including and grow our footprint nationally across Australia.”
