Security vendor Tumbleweed is slowly covering all its reseller bases around Australia, with Queensland-based Priority 1 Solutions the latest to sign up to its alliance program.
Since first appointing Information Gateways a couple of years ago, Tumbleweed has picked up Eastern seaboard-based resellers Content Security, Open Systems, Klikon Solutions and now Priority 1.
In terms of its products, which comprise of its flagship SecureTransport, MailGate and Validation Authority, Tumbleweed's Regional Vice President Asia Pacific and Japan, Stree Naidu, said the vendor had a two-pronged approach.
"We are trying to focus on SecureTransport without relinquishing our position as one of the strongest mail vendors out there," he said.
"Secure Transport is our strongest product in line of what is needed right now by regulatory bodies: There is a big need for it. Whereas if you look at our mail products there are 101 vendors that sell something that does spam."
SecureTransport is what caught Marc Jolly, Priority 1 managing director's eye.
"It is out there by itself," he said.
Jolly said enquiries from his customers, who come from the publishing, financial and transport industry, are what led him to Tumbleweed.
Although Priority 1 has a want for SecureTransport, Jolly said he was undecided about taking on its mail gateway product because of an existing partnership with Borderware. "We are still analyzing the differences [to MailGate]," he said.
Naidu said Tumbleweed's Alliance Program was ongoing and his next target for Australia was to secure resellers in South Australia and West Australia.
