Cloud-based security vendor, Zscaler has continued its rapid expansion across A/NZ, recruiting two new regional sales managers to spearhead the growth.

Andrew Simbaqueba has joined the Sydney office as regional sales manager in charge of the large enterprise market in the northern region.

He joins the business from Palo Alto Networks, where he served as a major account manager for one year. Prior to Palo Alto, Simbaqueba spent over four years at FireEye as territory sales manager.

Andrew Dunkin has joined the Melbourne office as the regional sales manager covering the large enterprise market in the southern region. Dunkin joins Zscaler from Fuze, where he served in a similar role as regional sales manager for one year. He also held stints at Riverbed ScienceLogic.

“All over the world, Zscaler has seen the emergence of demand for cloud security causing a major transformation in IT business security operations from both startups to multiple multi-billion dollar industries - and Australia and New Zealand is no exception,” said Zscaler country manager for A/NZ, Sean Kopelke.

“Since our international expansion, Zscaler has benefited from the momentum in demand for our solutions, and a fast growing customer base in Australia and New Zealand as enterprise and emerging companies look to take advantage of working with a pure-play cloud vendor rather than an on-premise solution.

“The addition of Andrew Simbaqueba and Andrew Dunkin as Regional Sales Managers will support the growing demand Zscaler is experiencing in the region," he said.

In April last year, Zscaler vice president for APAC, Scott Robertson, told ARN the vendor was making a significant investment in the Asia-Pacific region, using Australia in particular as its anchor market.

At the time, Robertson added that the business recognised the need to invest in strong talent to drive the growth.

“We have 12 staff, but we’re a growing team and are constantly looking for the best talent around. We have a very regimented hiring process and we need individuals that understand how business and IT are coming together,” he told ARN at the time.

The new hires see the vendor following through on this commitment, also exemplified by the recruitment of Kopelke from FireEye to head up the A/NZ region in November last year.

At the time, Robertson told ARN that Kopelke’s business development experience across the Asia-Pacific would be “invaluable” in developing strategies that will successfully engage with customers and partners across the Australian and New Zealand markets.
