Hitachi Vantara has promoted Marc Fiala to the role of senior partner business manager and channel leader for Australia and New Zealand.
Fiala has been with the company for the past 13 years. He most recently held the role of government sector manager and has also worked at Citrix, CA Technologies and Lexmark during his 30-year career.
The news coincided with the announcement of Hitachi Vantara’s new entry-level hybrid-flash storage.
“Organisations of all sizes are looking to consolidation workloads with minimal investment, in order to realise huge performance with the smallest possible footprint, as they look to extract business insights from their data,” said Fiala of the new offering.
“These solutions must support cloud strategies, they must be simple to implement and use, and – critically – they must deliver enterprise-level reliability and functionality.”
His announcement comes a year after the Japan-headquartered company underwent a major restructure in Australia, which led to the departure of channel lead A/NZ industry and alliances director, Phil Teague.
The operation was reorganised to have partner business managers for each sales region who report directly to local sales directors, of which there were three in Australia at the time.
