Telecommunications provider Vonex is on the look-out for more channel partners as it prepares for growth driven by the National Broadband Network (NBN) roll-out.

The Perth-based company has claimed it signed 72 partners during the 2019 financial year, which have helped grow its Private Branch Exchange (PBX) to 29,000 registered users.

In an effort to continue its growth, Vonex has now promoted its Brisbane-based channel specialist Terry Tangredi to head of sales.

Tangredi joined the company in June last year, having spent 25 years in the IT, telecommunications and telematics space.

Vonex, which sells mobile and traditional fixed line internet, alongside cloud-based PBX and VoIP services to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), said it was on track to deliver 25 per cent  year-on-year growth in new customer orders during the latest quarter.

In a shareholder update, the publicly-listed company claimed the growth of PBX users was largely driven by the channel, specifically IT business and managed service providers targeting SMEs in capital cities, alongside a city-focused marketing campaign.

“Vonex is targeting the NBN rollout in Australia’s capital cities as its campaign develops, which the company expects to drive website traffic growth and yield new customer leads online and through channel partners across the country,” Vonex told shareholders.

Additionally, the company’s partner-focused sales software, Sign On Glass, was also cited as a growth factor, having processed 900 orders.

In a shareholder update posted in February, the company also claimed it had signed up 45 channel partners.

This comes a year after Vonex raised a $6 million initial public offering (IPO) on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX).

The company had initially expected to raise $7 million to list on the ASX, and targeted the Sydney-based National Stock Exchange of Australia (NSX) the year before.
