Fujitsu has officially added Sydney to its global network of digital transformation centres (DTC).

Based at Macquarie University, the workshop space will allow current and prospective Fujitsu customers in Australia and New Zealand to work with students and researchers on digital solutions.

The vendor also claimed it was “receptive” to partners working at the centre on behalf of their customers.

According to Fujitsu, the centre will help businesses redefine problems with a view to jointly create a solution that takes into account different viewpoints.

“We have a strong focus on encouraging innovation, and the DTC is a place where imagination can meet possibility to shape a successful digital future,” Fujitsu A/NZ CEO Mike Foster said.

“Working closely with Macquarie University paves the way for future collaborative ventures between Fujitsu and the University, where corporate and academia can work together on innovative projects that would benefit from a diversity of talent.”

Fujitsu already has centres in Tokyo, Osaka, Munich, London and New York.

The centre will also serve as a workshop space, which Fujitsu claims can be used to develop ideas and proofs-of-concept that can be tested and modified.

Bernard Mans, the university’s interim executive dean at the Faculty of Science and Engineering added its “talent and know-how” will “help organisations create a clear roadmap to digital transformation success.”
