  • IDC: MFPs grow share of market

    Multifunction printer sales have continued to grow at a faster rate than single-function laser and inkjet models, according to the latest figures from analysts at IDC. Shipments of laser MFPs were up by 38 per cent in Q2, with inkjet MFPs also managing growth of 26 per cent. Single-function lasers and inkjets recorded growth of 29 per cent and 6 per cent respectively.

  • Colmac wins Heritage deal

    Queensland-based reseller, Colmac, is celebrating after securing a $400,000 deal with the Heritage Building Society. It beat off competition from several multinational vendors including Dell and HP with Data#3."We only have a team of seven, so to win this type of deal against such vendors is quite an achievement," Colmac managing director, Greg Mckeon, said, "It's our biggest contract in 10 years."

  • Kerr heads CA channel

    Management software vendor, Computer Associates (CA), has appointed Patrina Kerr as national channel sales manager. Her main duties will include managing its distributors and resellers. Kerr will also manage and extend the company's consumer business through partnerships with system builders and ISPs.

    Software reseller, Tectura Australia, is looking to expand its local operations to capitalise on vertical market opportunities. The decision comes after the company experienced 40 per cent growth in its first year of operation in Australia.
