Energy management products vendor, Schneider Electric, has signed Dicker Data as distributor for its home and SMB uninterruptible power systems (UPS) in Australia.
The partnership includes the SurgeArrest, Back-UPS, Smart-UPS, and Symmetra product lines for server, storage, and networking applications.
According to Dicker Data CEO and chairman, David Dicker, the APC by Schneider Electric product range will provide the distributor’s SMB reseller base with a broader range of power and UPS options from a technology leader.
Schneider Electric IT business Pacific vice-president, Paul Tyrer, said Dicker Data was chosen because it complements the vendor’s existing IT distributor network, and will provide it with access into new markets.
Tyrer expects the partnership will provide incremental growth, and allow the company to expand its channel presence in the SMB space.
“With the increased adoption of Cloud computing in the SMB market, businesses are moving more and more of their data and applications off-site,” Tyrer said. “Protecting the network connection to the Cloud has now become business critical, which presents expanded opportunities to our channel partners.”
“They can provide UPS solutions for the remaining onsite server and networking equipment, as well as the traditional ‘on-premise’ computing requirements. This new distribution agreement with Dicker Data is reflective of this growing opportunity in the SMB market.”
Two particular areas of opportunity lie with the increased adoption of Cloud in the SMB space, as well as the remaining resized on-premise IT, which requires infrastructure upgrades to address changed computing requirements.
Schneider also operates through Ingram Micro, Express Data, DPSA, and Pacific Datacom in Australia. Each distributor carries specific subsets of the vendor's portfolio.
