CA Technologies has appointed Janice Cox as vice president and managing director of Australia and New Zealand (A/NZ), recruiting the technology executive from a director role at Telstra.

Effective immediately, Cox replaces the retiring Paul Falkenstein who, after almost 20 years with the vendor - the last as managing director – will stay on to ensure a smooth transition into the business before departing.

In taking over the top role, Cox is responsible for driving sales, building the partner ecosystem, developing new business and managing overall operations, and will report directly to Martin Mackay, president and general manager of CA Technologies, Asia Pacific and Japan.

“A/NZ is an important market for CA,” Mackay said. “Therefore, it was essential we found the right candidate to continue delivering value to our customers and driving the business in A/NZ.

“I firmly believe Janice’s business acumen, market knowledge and experience leading teams to achieve sales, revenue and customer satisfaction targets make her the perfect fit for our team.”

Cox’s appointment comes more than a year after Falkenstein took over the local region for CA, replacing Hope Power who stepped down in August 2016.

As reported by ARN, the CA Technologies veteran of two decades was previously chairman of CA Japan, and stepped in to fill the top job after Powers returned to the United States.

“I’d also like to thank Paul for his 20 years of dedication to CA,” Mackay added. “During this time, he has been instrumental to the success of the business having held numerous regional-level roles as well as area management roles leading both our Japanese and Australian businesses.

“While I know there is a tropical island calling his name, I appreciate Paul’s commitment to our A/NZ employees, partners and customers as he works with Janice to ensure a smooth transition for all.”

Meanwhile, Cox was most recently with Telstra where she was a director within the telco giant's managed customer segment. Prior to that, Cox was the vice president of personal systems group at Hewlett Packard.
